Version 8.12 of the Genesis Application Platform brings the power of AI directly into application creation, enabling developers and domain experts to build more autonomously than ever before. This release also introduces new FX Options and Treasury solutions to the Genesis Marketplace, alongside enhancements to the Trade Allocation Manager and Wealth Management Suite.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.

AI in create: Making domain experts more autonomous

The highlight of version 8.12 is the introduction of AI in Create, our code-free application builder. With this update, domain experts, even those without a technical background, can now define an application’s core functionality using natural language prompts.

A new AI agent assists users by configuring Event Handlers, one of the platform’s key microservices that governs how business logic executes. Event Handlers model and manage business actions such as adding, modifying, or canceling trades.

Here’s how it works:

  • Users describe an event or business process in plain language.
  • The AI agent generates, validates, and implements the corresponding logic based on Genesis’ deterministic entity model.

Without AI, customizing Event Handlers previously required manual coding. Now, developers and domain experts alike can collaborate faster, with AI ensuring that all code adheres to the Genesis platform’s performance, compliance, and governance standards.

AI in Create is a cornerstone of the Genesis AI strategy, enhancing productivity while maintaining security, control, and predictability. Because the platform’s component-based architecture enforces strict guardrails, AI only acts on pre-defined extension points and never alters core code.

Saved filters: Smarter, personalized data views

The Genesis Grid Component now includes Saved Filters, a new capability that allows users to save and easily toggle between preferred data filters via a dropdown menu.

This improvement lets users move faster and focus on the data that matters most, without reapplying filters manually.

In the demo video, a user filters a trade list for Sell orders involving Vodafone and saves that query, showcasing how simple it is to customize and retrieve data views.

New marketplace solutions: FX options and treasury management

Two new applications are now available in the Genesis Platform Marketplace: FX Options (FXO) and Treasury Money Market (TMM) — both designed to streamline complex trading and treasury functions.

FX Options (FXO)

FXO is an advanced FX and derivatives trade blotter that integrates trade capture, analytics, market data, and risk calculations from multiple third-party systems. The solution harmonizes data to produce a golden record for trading and risk management, while offering advanced pricing functionality and full trade lifecycle support.

Watch the video to see how FXO integrates with Murex and visualizes exposure and risk through intuitive charts.

Treasury Money Market (TMM)

TMM centralizes and automates money market rate management across currencies. It calculates bid-ask spreads, generates prices for multiple settlement dates, and supports ad hoc rate requests for non-standard dates — eliminating operational inefficiencies.

The demo video shows how TMM enables firms to manage money market lending and pricing seamlessly across multiple currencies.

Solution updates: Trade Allocation Manager

The Genesis Trade Allocation Manager (TAM) continues to transform middle- and back-office operations with a multi-asset class, post-trade automation framework. New 8.12 features include:

  • Commission unbundling & enhanced commission management:
Firms can now configure research, brokerage, and sales-book commissions independently — including user and client-level overrides and downstream posting segregation. This gives operations and middle-office teams greater flexibility and control.
  • Custodian mapping for multi-back-office environments:
TAM now supports mapping for custodians and service providers directly in static data, simplifying onboarding and ensuring trades are routed correctly.
  • Flexible allocation file uploads:
TAM’s Smart Allocation file matching is now more adaptive, supporting a wider range of file formats, field orders, and headers, reducing manual adjustments and accelerating reconciliation.

Together, these enhancements make TAM even more powerful for post-trade efficiency and risk reduction.

Solution updates: Wealth Management Suite

The Genesis Wealth Management Suite is a multi-asset class platform supporting client quoting, trading, and execution across the entire trade lifecycle. Version 8.12 delivers several key updates:

  • Enhanced data dashboards: new, interactive visualizations provide views of trade activity, volume trends, and instrument performance with CSV export capabilities.
  • Live client chat: built-in real-time chat functionality enhances client communication and includes administrative controls for monitoring and configuration.
  • System analytics: new dashboards provide greater visibility into platform usage, including user logins, account activity, and trading volume in real time and historically.

These updates strengthen both client engagement and operational insight, giving wealth management firms a unified, transparent view of performance.

Platform spotlight: Event handler

At the core of the Genesis Platform, the Event Handler microservice defines and executes business logic as events. It models user actions and business processes while maintaining high performance and fine-grained permissioning.

Key capabilities include:

  • Two-phase workflow: validation (to confirm or warn) and commit (to enact the event).
  • Transactional integrity: full ACID compliance with rollback support for rejected events.
  • Permission control: tight integration with the Genesis entitlements layer.
  • State modeling: ensures only valid transitions occur across business objects.
  • REST endpoint generation: automatically exposes secure, authenticated APIs documented with OpenAPI.

The Event Handler underpins countless Genesis applications, delivering consistency, auditability, and speed at scale.
