The bank sought to expand digital wealth services by enabling clients to trade bonds electronically rather than relying on manual interaction.

THE SOLUTION
A client trading portal
Genesis developed a client trading portal enabling:
- Publication and real-time updating of bond prices
- Price negotiation between clients and trading desk
electronic order submission - Automated trade confirmations
The portal supports corporate and government bonds across multiple African markets. Integration with Bloomberg TOMS enabled:
- Automated order management
- Inventory management
- Straight-through processing
- Centralized execution workflows for traders.

OPERATIONAL OUTCOME
The system allowed FirstBank to introduce online bond trading capabilities and centralize liquidity and execution workflows while providing clients with digital access to trading services.
The platform is live, with planned enhancements including client tiering, dashboards and additional authentication controls.
