PBI delivers new bond opportunities for global investment manager

Our Primary Bond Issuance solution speeds up market monitoring and deal allocations, greatly widening scope

Client Challenge

Our client is a global investment management firm serving millions of retail and institutional clients. It operates in equity, fixed income, alternatives, and multi-asset investment markets.

In primary bond markets, dealers use multiple channels to communicate about deals. The firm was unable to monitor the market effectively, make quick decisions, and get the required deal allocations. It was therefore failing to take full advantage of lucrative opportunities.

The Solution

Genesis deployed our Primary Bond Issuance (PBI) application. The solution enables investment firms to efficiently track, analyze and swiftly communicate orders for new deals (corporate and government bonds).

PBI consolidates data from multiple sources and integrates analytics, reference data, compliance and order management systems, creating a unified workspace for portfolio managers, traders and credit analysts.

Genesis Primary Bond Issuance (PBI) application

Our client was able to leverage Genesis’ industry expertise, detailed planning, and seamless execution throughout.

This was Genesis’s very first client back in 2018. Its successful creation of a proprietary application validated our vision and was testament to the platform’s power and versatility.

Genesis’s capital markets and fixed-income expertise were instrumental in building trust in our ability to add new asset classes to PBI, such as municipal bonds.

A second phase will add support for leveraged loan deals (a new asset class for PBI) and integration with the Charles River OMS used by our client.

Over-subscription of the best bond deals creates competition between investment firms. PBI allows the firm to quickly communicate requests, securing allocations within short pricing windows (2-4 hours)

The solution enables our client to integrate multiple external and internal systems and order management systems, and display data with elegant interfaces.

PBI’s efficiency helps get the deals it desires in a competitive market, improving the likelihood that its bond portfolios will perform above benchmarks.
