Version 8.13 of the Genesis Application Platform integrates Create even more tightly with the AI in Genesis, further helping domain experts build applications with little or no developer support. In addition, UI updates facilitate more flexible menus, data retrieval and navigation. We also added applications for credit special situations trading and portfolio margin management to the Platform Marketplace and released several updates to our middle-office and wealth management solutions.

Let’s take a closer look at 8.13:

AI in Create drives easier application testing

Create, our code-free application builder, enables non-technical domain experts to build financial markets-grade applications autonomously. Now, AI in Create generates sample data to populate the entities in an application’s data model (e.g., instruments, counterparties, trades and positions).

This helps bring the application to life in a local development environment, enabling the builder to inspect entity data and validate application logic without having to generate sample data manually. In upcoming releases, Genesis will deploy AI to further automate application testing using Create. This will empower domain experts to rapidly simulate, validate and edit a broader range of application functions, logic and workflows within the Create tool.

This video shows how Create generates sample data to allow the builder to validate the application’s entities and their relationships.

UI framework enhanced to support AI-generated events

8.12 brought AI into Create to allow non-technical domain experts to employ natural language prompts to define the core functions of their applications. The AI-driven process customizes Event Handlers without direct coding. The new release enables builders using Create to more easily connect UI buttons and forms to AI-generated events by allowing full customization of the buttons that trigger them — including icon, tooltip, confirmation text, and how form and event data is sourced.

Previously, manual coding outside of Create was required to join events built with our AI tools to the UI.

This video shows the intuitive process for adding a UI button for an event, defining the tooltip, setting reference fields for the end-user, hiding fields not needed by the end-user and including a confirmation prompt for the action.

UI updates deliver more versatile column views and navigation

To make it easier for users to find and select information in complex datasets, 8.13 enables application builders to configure multi-select dropdown menus to show multiple data columns returned from the server query.

This video shows how a user creates a form by selecting from a list of accounts. Each of the three account data columns is searchable to facilitate the view the user needs.

We also enhanced the default header menu system to make it simpler to configure sub-menus to route users to different pages in the application.

This video shows four submenu options under one section of the navigation header.

Solutions for Credit Special Situations Trading and Real-Time Portfolio Margin added to Platform Marketplace

The Credit Special Situations Trading Application (CSST) offers a centralized platform for managing credit-related data, including holders, issuers and their associated instruments like bank debt, letters of credit, trade claims, warrants, DIPs as well as more common securities like bonds and preferred stock. It offers tailored dashboards for trading, research and sourcing teams.

This video shows how the solution tracks positions and exposures, provides different role-based views and offers audit and data tracking tools.

The Genesis Real-Time Portfolio Margin (RTPM) solution is a multi-asset risk management platform that gives prime brokers a real-time view of positions, margin utilization and portfolio risk. It helps prime brokers to make faster, better-informed decisions about margin and provide better service to clients through proactive communication and sharing live portfolio-driven data.

This video shows how the solution updates client position and margin utilization data, based on trades and intra-day price changes and tools it offers to manage exposures and margin limits.

Solution updates: Trade Allocation Manager

The Genesis Trade Allocation Manager Solution (TAM) transforms middle and back-office operations with a multi-asset class solution that automates trade matching, allocations, fees, taxes, confirmations and other post-trade workflows. New features in TAM include:

  • New group structures for instruments enhance static data management: users can now define and manage instrument groups centrally to streamline trade and allocation workflow. This enables users to automate and ensure consistency in how commissions, SSIs and post-trade enrichment are applied to instrument groups. This enhancement builds on existing support for counterparty, broker and account group structures. Centralizing group definitions allows teams to significantly reduce the effort required to maintain static data, which is particularly valuable to large institutions with global client and instrument coverage.
  • Enhanced previews and controls launched for confirmation emails: users can now preview and edit email confirmations before they are sent, improving accuracy, control and responsiveness in client communications. Fully integrated into the trade and allocation workflow, this feature allows users to provide high-touch service where required. Users can tailor the subject line, recipients and message body, when sending a manual confirmation or resending confirmations, upon client request.
  • In-app document repositories deployed: documents generated by TAM, including email confirmations, EOD reports and static data files, are now stored and available for user download from within TAM itself. This makes it easier for users to access and retrieve system data and to respond more quickly when clients request reports. Secure and accessible file management is enabled in Genesis through the Document Manager Component, which can be added to any Genesis application.

Solution updates: Wealth Management Suite

The Genesis Wealth Management Suite (WMS) is a multi-asset class client and internal quoting, trading and execution platform that optimizes the full trade lifecycle, from pre-trade engagement to post-trade settlement. WMS automates intra-bank workflow and data management and provides an array of tools for client quoting and portfolio proposals. New features include:

  • Improved customization for pricing tabs: application administrators can now dynamically organize instruments into tabs and groups, improving navigation and control. Previously, instruments were static and required development effort to add or modify.
  • Automated tracking of terms & conditions: WMS now displays terms and conditions documents to clients and tracks the status of acceptance. This helps advisors onboard accounts more quickly, while remaining compliant.
  • Dynamic, in-app document management: documents, such as portfolio proposals, emails price quotes generated by WMS system data are now stored and available for user download from within WMS itself. This makes it easier for users to access and retrieve system data and to respond more quickly when clients request reports. Secure and accessible file management is enabled in Genesis through the Document Manager Component, which can be added to any Genesis application.

Platform spotlight: Model Context Protocol Server

Model Context Protocol (MCP) helps software applications share context with LLMs in a consistent and meaningful way. The Genesis MCP Server functions like an API gateway for AI and is the latest example of AI becoming a fundamental part of the Genesis Application Platform.

Use cases for MCP are almost limitless, but we expect it to empower Genesis application users to be more innovative and productive by allowing them to: interact with the app from a conversational interface; create complex business outcomes by combining operations from Genesis and other MCP-enabled applications; and extract Genesis application data and use LLMs to perform actions on it (e.g., summarize, aggregate, format, transform, etc.)

Key Capabilities:

  • Guardrails for AI: the Genesis Application Platform provides guardrails to make AI a predictable and compliant actor within the platform and, by extension, our clients’ technology ecosystems.
  • Function controls: users can specify which functions within a Genesis application are available via MCP
  • Access controls: interactions via the Genesis MCP Server are subject to the same permissions and entitlements model as the underlying application.
  • Backward compatibility: Genesis applications do not need reconfiguration to operate with an MCP Server.
